Stresa wird zum ersten Mal in einem Pergament aus dem Jahre 998 unter dem Name Strixia erw\u00e4hnt.<\/p>

Mit Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts beginnt der Ferienort am See unter der Gerichtsbarkeit der Visconti und Borromei Ber\u00fchmtheit zu erlangen, vor allem dank der Anwesenheit von Antonio Rosmini, Alessandro Manzoni und anschlie\u00dfend durch Elisabeth von Sachsen, der Herzogin von Genua. Durch den darauf folgenden Eisenbahnbau der Simplonstrecke am Anfang des 20. F\u00fcr Naturliebhaber ist ganz sicher die Villa Pallavicino<\/strong> ein lohnendes Besichtigungsziel! Die Villa, welche 1855 von dem Marchese Pallavicino erbaut wurde, befindet sich in einer privilegierten Lage und bietet einen herrlichen Ausblick auf den Lago Maggiore und seine Inseln. Der Park auf einer Fl\u00e4che von 15 Hektar ist reich an Gew\u00e4chsh\u00e4usern und sowohl exotischen als auch einheimischen Pflanzen: Mammutb\u00e4ume, L\u00e4rchen, Eichen, Magnolien und Kastanien. Kinder m\u00f6gen die Villa Pallavicino ganz besonders, da sie hier Tieren begegnen k\u00f6nnen, die sie nie zuvor gesehen haben. Der Park ist in der Tat Heimat f\u00fcr K\u00e4ngurus, Lamas, Damhirsche, Zebras, Affen, Tukane, Papageien, Eulen und Flamingos.
