Laut dem Ranking von TheNeeds befinden sich die sch\u00f6nsten G\u00e4rten der Welt in Verbenia und einer von ihnen ist der Garten der Villa Taranto.

Die G\u00e4rten er Villa Taranto wurden von Kapit\u00e4n Neil McEacharn entworfen. Dieser hatte sie im Jahr 1931 von der Marquise di Sant’Elia gekauft.
Sein Wunsch war es, ein St\u00fcck seines geliebten Schottlands zu schaffen. So entstand ein ganz besonderes Exemplar eines Englischen Gartens, der zwei grundlegende Anforderungen verband: \u00c4sthetik und botanische Vielfalt.
Der Name des Gartens wurde in Gedenken an einen der Vorfahren des Kapit\u00e4ns gew\u00e4hlt: Marshal McDonald, der durch Napoleon zu einem Herzog von Tarent ernannt wurde.
Die Arbeiten am Garten dauerten neun Jahre. In dieser Zeit entstand ein innovatives Bew\u00e4sserungssystem, das das Wasser direkt aus dem See gewinnt. Brunnen wurden geschaffen, Terrasseng\u00e4rten, ein Wintergarten, ein Sumpf und Tanks f\u00fcr Wasserlilien und Lotusblumen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Ind en G\u00e4rten der Villa Taranto, die eine Fl\u00e4che von circa 16 Hektar umfassen, gibt es ann\u00e4hernd 1.000 nicht einheimische Pflanzen und 20.000 Arten und Sorten von besonderer botanischer Bedeutung.
Unter den verschiedenen Arten befinden sich Azaleen, Rhododendren, Ahorne, Kamelien, Magnolien, Heidekraut, Eukalyptus, Tulpen, Astern und Lotusblumen. Dazu kommen seltene Arten wie die gro\u00dfe Wasserlilie Victoria Cruziana, die Sie in den tropischen Gew\u00e4chsh\u00e4usern finden, Koniferen Metasequoia, Farne Dicksonia Antarctica, Emmenopterys Henryi und den F\u00e4cher-Ahorn Kapit\u00e4n McEacharn.
